Volunteer Appreciation Spotlight: Jennifer Brown

“Jennifer is one of those volunteers who you just wish you could replicate ten times over. She is a creative problem-solver, a consensus-builder, a go-getter, a team player, and is always so fun to be around.” -Jordan Walker, Special Events Manager

This is Jennifer Brown’s second year serving on the steering committee for our signature fundraising event, 2018 West Fight On presented by Sedgwick. She originally started volunteering because her good friend Stephanie, a recent breast cancer patient, was chairing the event and asked her to help out. “At first I thought I would be just helping out here and there, then the next thing I know I am on the planning committee with an incredible group of volunteers putting on one-heck of an event that I cannot imagine not being a part of in the future.” Jennifer works year round with her team of fellow volunteers to ensure that there are fun activities and entertainment at the event. She is always willing to go the extra mile to help out and is always thinking of new and different ways to raise funds for the fight against cancer. In addition to her volunteer work with West, Jennifer is active in the Junior League of Memphis and is serving as a third-term president of her homeowners association. When asked what her favorite part of volunteering is she said, “The people I have met volunteering for West are some of the best people. I truly believe they have made me a better volunteer.”

Thank you to Jennifer and all of our incredible volunteers for all you do for The UT/West Institute. We appreciate you!
