My family and I formed the team “Petals for Pam” because it represents the vibrant beauty of Pam’s life. Each petal signifies her strength, courage, love, and selflessness. Pam was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother. She was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer at the age of 57. She fought this terrible disease for 15 months. Pam never let cancer define her life. She got out of bed every day and put on her make-up and fixed her hair. On the day Pam died, she had lunch with her daughter and granddaughter and finished all of her Christmas shopping.
Her drive to fight this disease was the hope she received from the doctors and staff while undergoing treatment. Everyone knew when Pam entered the building. She was a beautiful stylish lady with a contagious smile. She never dreaded going to the clinic. She loves her Oncologist, Dr Portnoy. He always came in and left with a smile filled with hope.
We want to build this passionate team bigger and stronger every year in honor of our beautiful mother. We want to raise money to continue the research that is needed to create newer and better drugs to kill this cancer. Our mother was taken from us way to soon. Every child deserves to have their mom with them for a very long time.
